Harbor of Joy Lutheran Church organized as a congregation of the Lutheran Congregation in Mission for Christ (LCMC) in July, 2010. Pastor Tim Nappe was asked to lead this developing congregation.
The first service was held at the Milford Community Center with 121 excited members.
In September, 2010, Harbor of Joy moved to the former Cycle Country building in north Milford. 146 Charter Members helped to remodel the facility and praised God for His many blessings!
In June, 2011, Harbor of Joy’s music ministry came under the direction of Bob Floss. The Praise and Worship Band leads the music at every Sunday morning service, and the Harbor Choir performs Fall, Christmas, and Spring concerts, in addition to singing at several Sunday Services.
In 2013, a church building became available on L Avenue in Milford, and in October, HOJ members packed everything up and made another move to this new location. This location provided the congregation with a larger sanctuary, more Sunday School rooms, a kitchen, fellowship rooms, and more office space.
God has lead and blessed Harbor of Joy every step of the way in our growth and expansion. We give Him all the praise and glory, and ask Him to continue to guide us in doing His will for this church.
